At the time a disbursement posts to the student's account, notification is sent to the student indicating the amount of the loan being posted.  The student has 14 days in which to decline or request the university to return unwanted funds.  Once a credit refund has been released to the student any unwanted funds need to be returned by the student to their loan servicer. A student can find their loan servicer by visiting www.nslds.ed.gov.
